OCAD U student receives 2026 RGD Student Award

OCAD University student Elaine Yang has received the Award for Motion Design at the 2026 Student Awards, presented by the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD). The RGD is Canada’s largest professional association for graphic designers, with more than 4,500 members.
Yang received the award for her project, Why do you love creating?, an animated video reflecting on the innate desire to create. The project was supported by OCAD U instructor Karen Justl. The RGD praised Yang’s use of complementary fonts and seamless scene transitions in creating a unified, immersive experience.
OCAD U students were also recognized with honourable mentions across several categories.
