OCAD U LiVE's Short Film Grant Program is back!

The Tim Mogg OCAD U LiVE Short Film Grant supports emerging filmmakers and creators by providing funding and resources to help bring original ideas to life. This grant will support current OCAD U students in creating visual, time based media projects, including showcasing the work on OCAD U LiVE and through festival circuits.
Projects at any stage of production are encouraged. Recipients will receive tailored feedback to support the completion of their work.
Students are encouraged to apply with short time-based media projects in any format including but not limited to:
- Short Film
- Documentary
- Music-Led Video
- AR/VR Experience
- Animation
Recipients will receive:
$1,000 Production Grant
Funding to support the creation of your project.
Production Resources
Access to equipment, crew, casting support and other OCAD U LiVE production resources.
$500 Festival Submission Support
Funding to help submit your completed film to festivals.
Festival Consultation
A one-on-one consultation with Executive Producer, Leonardo Dell’Anno, to help develop a festival submission strategy for your film.

Adjudication: October 26–28, 2026
Selected Films Announced: November 2, 2026
Production Period: November 2, 2026 to March 22, 2027
The grant honours OCAD U alumnus Tim Mogg and his legacy by continuing to support emerging creators and giving them the opportunity to develop and share their work.

About Tim Mogg
Tim Mogg was a proud OCAD grad (Class of '85) who worked as a makeup artist in Toronto until his death in 2012. With numerous film, video and television credits to his name, he was known as much for his kindness and sense of humour as his prodigious talent. Nothing would have made him happier than knowing that his legacy is inspiring the next generation of film makers.
