Student Accessibility Services hosts programs and events throughout the academic year. Our events are aimed at encouraging the OCAD U community to build a dialogue about accessibility, and connecting students and faculty to on-campus and off-campus supports and resources.

StART Summer Transition Program


 

The Summer Transition Program is a free, comprehensive orientation program offered each August for incoming OCAD U students with disabilities.

This program supports students in building skills and knowledge of university supports while connecting with peers who may have similar experiences, all within a welcoming and supportive environment.

Participants will have opportunities to learn practical skills to help the transition to university, meet other new students, and become familiar with available supports. Topics include university services and accommodation supports, strategies for critiques and time management, self-advocacy skills, stress management, and positive mental health strategies.
Please note: All participants are required to complete registration with Student Accessibility Services before attending the program.
