Dr. Lynne Heller says teaching at OCAD U in the Material Art and Design program has underlined the need to better comprehend the digital tools and networks that are becoming more familiar in craft studios.

Through support from the Government of Ontario and the Ontario Arts Council, French-speaking OCAD U Experimental Animation students are showcasing a video-mapped animation, created with Francophone students from Belgium’s ARTS2, at the Mons de Lumières festival in January 2026.

DXC and OCAD University, in partnership with the EU Delegation to Canada, invite emerging youth artists, aged 18 to 29, from Canada and EU to participate in the DemocracyXChange 2026.

OCAD U Instructor Erin Finley’s research project, The Memory Drawing, explores how drawing can support cognitive recall, emotional expression, and personal storytelling among older adults living in long-term care.
