For the fourth consecutive year, OCAD University is engaged with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Students from OCAD U LiVE, OCAD U’s experiential learning program for content creators, will be conducting interviews with filmmakers and artists on the red carpet, gaining real-world experience.
OCAD U Events at TIFF
- From Sept. 4 to 7: OCAD U LiVE has a tent at TIFF’s street festival on King St. where visitors can meet emerging filmmakers and videographers. Visitors can see work from OCAD U LiVE students and from the University’s Experimental Animation and Integrated Media programs. Plus, there will be giveaways!
- Sept. 6: OCAD U is hosting a masterclass on campus for film industry professionals with two renowned and award-winning directors: Momoko Seto from France and OCAD U Associate Professor Min Sook Lee from Canada. Moderated by film critic Adam Nayman, this event is being organized by the Ambassade de France au Canada (Embassy of France to Canada), Institut français du Canada and the Directors Guild of Canada, in partnership with OCAD U, Unifrance and Rémy Cointreau.
- Sept. 4, 11, 13: The world premiere of There Are No Words, a National Film Board of Canada (NFB) feature documentary by Associate Professor Min Sook Lee, is being presented at TIFF on Sept. 4 and 13 for the press and industry. The public film screening takes place on Sept. 11.
Throughout the festival, OCAD U LiVE is the only post-secondary institution on the red carpet interviewing actors, directors, artists and filmmakers. Interviews will air on OCAD U LiVE and OCAD U’s social media channels throughout the festival.
