Focus Canada-France – A dialogue between filmmakers
Dive into the world of Canadian and French cinema with a lively discussion among talented filmmakers. Part of TIFF50.

This encounter between filmmakers Momoko Seto and Min Sook Lee is the second edition of a series of conversations between French and Canadian filmmakers whose films are part of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) selection. Created to deepen artistic exchange and collaboration, this initiative brings together filmmakers from both countries to reflect on their creative processes, share insights, and foster greater visibility for films produced in France and Canada.
Momoko Seto is a French-Japanese filmmaker, video artist and collaborator with the CNRS (France’s National Centre for Scientific Research).
Min Sook Lee is a self-taught documentary filmmaker who has directed eight feature documentaries, often focusing on labour, migration and social justice issues.
The conversation will be moderated by Adam Nayman, a Toronto-based film critic and lecturer, known for his perceptive approach to cinema.
The event will be followed by a cocktail reception, offering an opportunity to continue the conversation in a convivial setting.
This event is organized by the Institut français du Canada and the Directors Guild of Canada, in partnership with OCAD University, Unifrance and Rémy Cointreau.
