OCAD University has unveiled a new dynamic integrated digital service – website and app – that defines a new way to engage with the University, setting a bold standard for user experience and design.
After almost two years of consultation with students, staff, faculty and external partners, OCAD U has launched a fully redesigned and accessible website that offers an enhanced user journey for prospective students and their families, donors, alums, partners, media, government and potential new employees.
The website also features an expanded showcase of student projects, stories about alums and University initiatives, along with an interactive events calendar.
The University has also introduced myOCADU, a centralized platform and cutting-edge mobile app, which offers an elevated, streamlined experience for students, faculty and staff. This customizable portal now provides quick access to essential resources, tools, and services, making it easier for people to stay connected and informed.
One of the most exciting additions is the AI-augmented search tool, which connects content from across all official University channels. As a result, users can find relevant information quickly and intuitively.
"I am excited about the launch of our redesigned website and online platform – the result of countless hours of consultation and support from representatives across the University,” says President and Vice-Chancellor Ana Serrano. “OCAD U is more than a university – it is also a vibrant hub for all sorts of art, design and cultural activities and a vast talent network of artists and designers.”
The redesigned website was a collaboration between OCAD U staff and agency
“OCAD U is central to creativity in Canada, and to have the opportunity to work with this leading institution to help tell their story was an honour for us at Edelman,” says Bianca Freedman, CEO of Edelman Canada. “We hope the dynamic digital environment is inspiring to future Canadian artists, creatives and designers.”
With more than 5,000 students and over 25,000 alums, six galleries, 20 research labs and centres as well as a community of the most sought-after faculty in art and design, the new website is a one-stop shop for people wanting to know more about OCAD U.
