Living Frames” presents ecological animation - the research-creation of our student-faculty collective of Isaac King, Cristal Buemi, Raven Myers, Peter Samanek, Mehrak Tehrani, and Samuel Wasserman.

Over the last year, we visited 4 sites of ecological significance to collaborate with artists, scholars, and land stewards while experimenting with the materials of each location. The resulting animation was inspired by this research into ecology, waterways, colonial extraction, rewilding, and outdoor materials-based practice.

Many thanks to our collaborators Charlene K. Lau at Evergreen Brickworks, The Sweet Grass Roots Collective, and Cole Swanson. Thank you Gerald Grison and the INTM team for technical assistance. This research was supported by the BMO Sustainable Futures Microgrants program through OCAD University’s Global Centre for Climate Action.
