Dr. Sugandha Gaur is an Advertising Actionist whose work spans education, research, and artistic practice. With over fifteen years of experience, they focus on transforming ideas into collective action.

Holding a Ph.D. in Media Arts, Sugandha brings a strong foundation in creative and unconventional communication strategies to address complex social and environmental challenges. Their work is grounded in a commitment to land-based pedagogies and the recognition of Indigenous knowledges, guided by a belief in creativity as a catalyst for care and collective transformation.

They are currently an Associate Professor in the Advertising Program at OCAD University, where they teach across all four years and lead the Advertising Action Collective— a research-led initiative that prepares creatives as advertising actionists, reimagining a socially responsive industry. It is a space that proposes an opportunity for stakeholders, i.e., academia, brands, industry, to investigate and implement alternative frameworks for collective action by positioning capital not only as an economic resource but also as a tool for positive social impact. Through this space, their goal is for all the stakeholders to reassess traditional advertising approaches and imagine community-interest creative futures.
