Room Tours
An EAD Bridge Exhibition

An online exhibition of works by students from the 2026 EAD: Bridge to First Year summer program, presented by the English for Art & Design (EAD) Program. 

Sixteen students from this year's overall summer program/cohort participated in this optional final exhibition. 

The exhibition returns to the first studio project of the program: thinking in terms of place and orientation, students produced annotated drawings of the places where they would be working over the six weeks of the course and predicted the tools, skills, and resources they would need. These drawings were the basis for online “room tours” during the following week.

The drawings and writings recorded the cohort’s observations in a transitional moment, as they worked together in different places from across various cities, regions, and time zones. EAD: Bridge to First Year is a six-week summer intensive language program for students who speak English as an additional language (English Language Learners); they complete the pathway program prior to entering their first year at OCAD University. Students work with experienced instructors to build academic language skills specific to art and design disciplines, learn about academic and studio culture at OCAD U, become familiar with the analytical and iterative methods needed, and build helpful connections to start their first year.
