Still Loops: Rupture, Return, and Sustaining a Creative Life is a public talk by artist and educator Nicholas Pye that reflects on non-linear creative paths in contemporary art and teaching. Drawing from his interdisciplinary practice across sound, photography, time-based media, installation, and public art, Pye considers how moments of rupture such as shifts in medium, context, or life structure can deepen rather than disrupt a practice.

Organized around the concept of the loop, the talk explores attention, duration, repetition, and care as shared methods across making and teaching. Pye discusses how these ideas shape his studio work, inform his pedagogy, and guide his approach to curriculum development, mentorship, and service. The talk offers a thoughtful perspective on sustaining a creative and pedagogical practices over time through process, return, and responsibility.
