Exhibition featuring OCAD U alums at Toronto City Hall as part of Mabuhay Philippines Festival.

In 1975, Filipino psychologist Virgilio G. Enriquez introduced the concept of Kapwa, a framework based on the idea of a “shared identity,” describing the bond between Filipino individuals and their communities.
Pagkakaisa (pronounced pag-ka-ka-ee-sa) is the Tagalog term for collective unity. Drawing from isa, meaning “one,” the title recognizes community as fundamental to Filipino culture, continuing within diasporic communities.
Presented as part of the 2026 Mabuhay Festival, Pagkakaisa (Aug. 17 to 20) unites alums from OCAD University and the Philippine Artists Group of Canada, showcasing contemporary work by Filipino-Canadian artists.

The Mabuhay Philippines Festival returns to Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto on August 22–23, 2026
Admission is free for this all-ages event celebrating Filipino food, culture, art, and music, featuring headliners like Apl.de.Ap and Janine Gutierrez.

- Hours: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (and up to 11 p.m. for main stage highlights)
- Location: Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. West, Toronto, ON
