About the Speaker
Kelcy Timmons Chan (they/them) is a Cantonese Canadian American queer pop artist and mural painter based in Toronto. Through their lens as a biracial, gender-fluid immigrant, Kelcy explores belonging, cultural pride, and food as a universal love language. Their work amplifies stories of family-owned restaurants and queer spaces, depicting how community and place shape our sense of home. Featuring their signature “little purple people,” Kelcy’s art creates bustling, intricate scenes that invite viewers to reflect on how community and food shape belonging.
