The Health and Wellness Centre is OCAD University's on-campus clinic that provides medical and counselling services to all OCAD U students. The services are accessible and responsive to issues relating to gender, race, age, culture, ability, sexual orientation, income and faith. We are a team of health-care professionals whose goal it is to make your time at OCAD U a positive and fulfilling experience and help you maintain optimal physical and mental health while pursuing a post-secondary education.
Our family doctor is available Mondays from 1pm to 5:30pm, and will be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10am to 4pm. Please call us at 416-977-6000, Ext. 260 or email us at email@example.com to book an appointment. Our voicemail is updated regularly indicating the doctor's availability. The nurse is also available for select services Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The doctor does not see walk-in appointments. However, there are a number of same day urgent appointments available every day. Please call first thing in the morning for these appointments as they are booked on a first come first serve basis. These appointments are shorter, so can only accommodate one urgent issue. If you think you will require more time with the doctor or your concern is not urgent, you may be asked to book for a different day in the doctor's schedule. If no appointments are available, but you have an urgent issue, the front desk may ask to call you back after speaking with the nurse or doctor.
Walk-in counselling is available Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To ensure you get the best out of your session, please arrive by 3:30 p.m. Walk-in counselling can be used to access crisis support, get connected to ongoing counselling and other Health & Wellness services, as well as to explore options for community resources. Walk-in sessions are typically 20 minutes in length and generally occur on a first come, first served basis.
For after-hours support, see our Resources page.
The OCAD U Health & Wellness Centre is open to OCAD students year round. Please note that you must be registered in a degree program and currently enrolled in classes in order to access services.
