Be inspired at Toronto’s largest free art and design exhibition, GradEx110! Explore the creative work of more than 800 emerging artists and designers at OCAD University, May 7 to 11, 2025 at 100 McCaul St.

The annual exhibition features the work of graduating students in every discipline, sales of student work, an alumni lounge and a special exhibition of medal-winning student work in the Great Hall. A supplemental online exhibition will also launch on May 7.

Highlights

  • Opening Night Celebration features a bar, DJ, food truck and art installations. Exhibition and celebration open to the public, May 7, 6 to 11 p.m., Butterfield Park (adjacent to 100 McCaul) and in the auditorium.
  • Drop-in drawing workshop facilitated by Continuing Studies instructor Heather GentlemanParticipants will work from a still life using pencil on newsprint, exploring shade, light, composition, and more! May 10, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Great Hall, 100 McCaul St.
  • Buy or commission original art: buy or commission original art quickly and easily at a number of student sales areas.
  • Alumni marketplace: Explore unique art and design from OCAD U alumni at the Alumni Marketplace. Shop original artwork and handmade goods while supporting artists and designers.

2026 Sankofa Square Black History Month Digital Exhibition Call for Artists

Sankofa Square and the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers are excited to announce the return of the annual Black History Month Digital Exhibition Career Launcher providing an exhibition opportunity for artists from the OCAD U community to exhibit their work on the square’s digital screens. Artists are invited to submit artworks to be displayed across five (5) digital screens for the duration of Black History Month in February 2026.

OCAD University announces 2026 Ateneo Art Award Resident Jel Suarez

Filipino artist Jel Suarez has been selected as OCAD University’s 2026 Ateneo Art Award Resident, part of OCAD U’s partnership with the Ateneo Art Gallery at Ateneo de Manila University. The residency supports emerging artists whose practices reflect creativity, critical engagement and innovation. Building on the 2024 residency of Doktor Karayom, who presented No One’s At Home (Walang Tao Sa Bahay) in Toronto, proceeds from a limited-edition shirt designed by Karayom will help support Suarez’s upcoming residency and strengthen cultural exchange between OCAD University and the Ateneo Art Gallery.
