OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers (CEAD) is pleased to announce a partnership with Mutual Artist Network invites four OCAD University students and recent alumni to sell their work at Mutual Artist Network’s CREΔTIA Market. This partnership is a great opportunity for OCAD U students and alumni to gain tabling experience tabling alongside peers at a real-world pop-up art market.

Mutual Artist Network is a student-founded organization dedicated to helping young artists and aspiring creatives in the GTA showcase their talents, grow their presence, encourage entrepreneurship, and find new opportunities and connections through events, workshops, and more. So far, they have organized four large-scale markets (MAM23, MAF23, MAF24, MSX24) and have assisted with organizing the Christmas Surprise Market alongside our partners at Mr.Surprise Toys.

Selected for this market are:

Headshot of Chiling Liang.

Uwachi (Chiling Liang): Hey, I'm Chi, the artist behind Uwahchi. I create digital art that I turn into cute stickers and pretty art prints! I love drawing charming characters and little things that feel fun and relatable. I hope the things I make can form some smiles and connect with people. I tend to create spontaneously when the mood hits, and I absolutely love the sketching part of the process the most. Seeing my designs come to life as stickers or prints is honestly so rewarding. Can’t wait to share my creations with you and hopefully bring a little more to your day!

Uwachi will be selling art prints, stickers, sticker sheets, bookmarks, star strips, and polaroids.

Headshot of Fiza Fatima Wasey

fiawerss (Fiza Fatima Wasey): I love creating art that allows me to celebrate my love for media and entertainment with others. I enjoy a multitude of media types such as shows, music, and comics, and want to encourage that love in other people who enjoy that media. I mainly create my work by experimenting with digital media, sometimes including photo-bashing, but primarily working with a comic book style inspired by 2000s comic book halftones mixed with an anime art style.

fiawerss will be selling stickers, keychains and postcards

Headshot of Jasmine Lesperance

Jasmine Lesperance: I’m Jasmine Lesperance, a Chinese designer and illustrator based in Toronto. My work often incorporates elements of childhood nostagia, the beauty of nature, and representation for asian women and girls. I express my personal identity and most vulnerable feelings through artwork. Whether I’m working with gouache, watercolor, or using digital tools, I’m all about exploring stories and sharing moments through visual narratives. You might’ve seen my work in CBC Arts, American Illustration, or THIS Magazine, and I’m always excited to share more!

Jasmine Lesperance will be selling a variety of lino printed totes bags and art prints!

Headshot of Sophie Sawicka

Sophie Sawicka: Sophie Sawicka is a contemporary artist working in Toronto. Sophie is currently completing her BFA in the Drawing and Painting program at OCADU (2025). Sophie’s work most recently was shown at Queen Mother Cafe (Toronto). Her work is currently available for purchase through the Partial OCADU Showcase.

Sophie’s work explores interconnectedness, capturing the energy within everything and the ineffable wholeness in emptiness. Working with oil paint on canvas she has a philosophical approach to painting. Blending abstraction and figuration to intuitively create ‘mindscapes’ using symbols reflective of herself and life's transcendent qualities. Sophie is focused on building her portfolio and exhibiting her work in Toronto. This year she is completing her major thesis project and will be showing at the OCADU GRAD-EX in 2025.

Sophie Sawicka will be selling lithographs and prints of original oil paintings

The market takes place at Avant Garde Gallery (218 Merton St, Toronto, ON) on March 8 - 9, 2025 from 11:30 AM - 6:00 PM each day.
