OCAD University announces Make It! Art Camp, a new summer program offered in partnership with Blank Canvases, launching this July.

Make It! Art Camp is open to youth ages 12–14 with an interest in exploring visual art, building new skills, and experiencing a post-secondary arts environment in a fun and supportive setting. This five-day, in-person camp invites creative youth to experience life at Canada’s largest art and design university through hands-on workshops in drawing, painting, collage, mixed media and sculpture.

Participants will work in professional studio spaces at OCAD U’s downtown Toronto campus, explore nearby galleries, and develop their creative voice under the guidance of qualified artist educators. The program emphasizes sustainable, affordable art-making practices using upcycled and eco-friendly materials, while also offering early portfolio-building experiences.

Program Highlights:

  • Five full days of studio-based art workshops
  • Access to select OCAD U studios and facilities
  • Early portfolio preparation
  • Collaborative, friendship-building projects
  • Outdoor activities in Grange Park
  • A visit to the Art Gallery of Ontario to inspire the young creative mind
