New this year at OCAD U, Make It! Art Camp is a five-day, in-studio youth program (ages 12 to 14) presented in collaboration with Blank Canvases.

Registration is now open! The program, July 28 to August 1, 2025, will include drawing, painting, collage and sculpture, focusing on hands-on making, creative processes and 2D/3D visual art experimentation.

“We are so excited to work with this age group in the beautiful and inspiring studios and campus amenities at OCAD University,” said Associate Professor Ilene Sova, who is managing the program through her children’s arts organization Blank Canvases in partnership with OCAD U. “We are designing the dream art camp we all would have loved as young artists.”

The camp will be taught by qualified art teachers who are experienced in fostering creativity in youth.

Highlights include:

  • Access to OCAD U’s studios and facilities
  • Outdoor activities in Grange Park for flora and fauna studies
  • A tour of the Art Gallery of Ontario
  • Portfolio preparation for high-school art programs
  • Friendship-building projects

All materials are included, and the week culminates with an art exhibit for family, friends and the community. Registration ends Friday, July 25.
