Digital Artwork Licensing Call for Artists & Designers

OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION:

OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to partner with Medallion Corp. to create an exclusive call-for-submissions from members of the OCAD U community.

Medallion Corp is seeking an artist or designer from whom they can license existing images of previously created works which would then be prepared for printing and installation on the temporary hoarding for a new construction development in progress at 3101 Bathurst Street in Toronto.

The selected artist will be awarded a project fee of $3,000. The recipient will be selected by Medallion Corp. based on submission guidelines. The artwork is expected to be selected based on an existing portfolio of available digital works, to be selected in late November 2025.

Prior to undertaking the final digital file preparations the selected artist/designer will meet with the client for approval and for involvement in developing the site layout. Medallion Corp will integrate the selected image(s) into other design features that will appear on the site hoarding.

It is currently anticipated that the mural printing and production period will take place between March 1 and April 1, 2025 (subject to change).

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Please provide the following information in one .pdf document:

  • Full contact information (Name, phone, and email)
  • CV or Resume
  • Links to online website portfolio (and social media if relevant)
  • 5 images of prior work in a consistent style that represents your creative practice and could be available for licensing, laid out in one PDF file – be sure to list for each of these support images your artist name, title, year, dimensions and medium
  • A brief (100 - 200 words max) description that contextualizes your potential involvement in this project (eg. any relevant experience to highlight or information about the suitability of your work)

KEY DATES:

  • November 23, 2025 at 12:00pm ET: Application Deadline
  • November 24 – December 5, 2025: Selected artist or designer expected to be notified
  • December 15, 2025 - January 30, 2026: Digital artwork preparation/production period
  • March 1 – April 1, 2026: Artwork expected to be mounted at 3101 Bathurst

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current OCAD U students, or OCAD U alumni who graduated 2020 - 2025;
  • Must have existing original work available in line with the project as outlined;
  • Any previous experience with producing digital vector files for vinyl mural production for clients is an asset;
  • ILLU, DRPT, GRPH and IAMD students and grads are especially encouraged to apply.

COMPENSATION:

  • $3,000 Project Fee
  • HST as applicable
