OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce a recruited placement in partnership with wonderMakr for the role of Assistant Producer.

Overview: As an Assistant Producer at wonderMakr, you are a critical support pillar in bringing our wildly creative and technically diverse projects to life. You thrive in dynamic environments where no two days—or projects—are ever the same.You’re organized, curious, adaptable, and deeply driven by the desire to solve problems and make the impossible possible. You support our Producers in executing physical and digital experiences that push boundaries, helping manage the flow of communication, coordination, logistics, and documentation.

Your Mission: Is to bridge the gap between business development and production. You will be involved in the process right from the start, where a project might be nothing more than a vague idea. You will be in client meetings taking notes, ensuring all details are captured clearly and working with our Senior Leadership team to make sales presentations and estimates. You will work closely with the Director of Production and Director of Operations to brief in approved projects to the Production and Technical Teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in client meetings with the Sales team taking & reviewing notes, ensuring all required project details are captured and follow up on action items
  • Action sales related tasks such as presentation creation, range and official estimate creation and general research tasks for both information and quotes
  • Work with Sales team to confirm the presentation has all required information and everything is clear for them to present
  • Brief in Production and Technical teams on new and potential projects
  • Assist Producers in creating and maintaining project documentation (e.g., estimates, SOWs, presentations, workback schedules)
  • Support coordination of internal and external teams including vendors, freelancers, and suppliers
  • Help tracking budgets and preparing financial reports and documentation for billing and forecasting
  • Assist in sourcing parts, hardware, software, and other materials for prototypes and builds
  • Stay curious and up to date on tech trends, tools, and vendors that might benefit future projects

About You:

  • You’re a natural problem solver and passionate organizer
  • You love learning, tinkering, and asking "how can we make this work?"
  • You take pride in making things run smoothly behind the scenes
  • You’re resourceful and never afraid to ask questions or roll up your sleeves
  • You bring energy, accountability, and a sense of humor to your work
  • You have a familiarity with technical projects to the extent that you can follow along and understand the base concepts of our builds. You do not need to be able to program an app or build a mechanical system, but you understand what they are and how they may be used

Qualifications:

  • Proficient with project management and productivity tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Monday.com, Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, and Office Suite).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong instincts for clarity and tone.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly identify solutions and conduct thorough independent research.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining a calm, proactive attitude.
  • Passionate about creative technology, experiential design, and hands-on making (bonus points for DIY builds or personal side projects!).
  • Holds a valid driver’s license and resides within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
  • Willing to work onsite at the office five days a week.
  • Previous experience in an experiential marketing agency is considered an asset.

TERM:

Full-time for 12 weeks starting in May 2026. 
Exact start date to be determined with the selected candidate.

LOCATION:

In-person in Mississauga

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Current OCAD U undergraduate students in any discipline who have completed 15+ credits and will be graduating in 2026, 
  • or current OCAD U Master's students
  • or recent alumni who graduated in 2025
