Senate Elections

OCAD University Senate elections are managed centrally by the Chief Electoral Officer and are held annually in preparation for the upcoming academic year. Elected Senators include faculty, Program Chairs/Graduate Program Directors, as well as both undergraduate and graduate students.

Sessional Faculty Election Timeline: 

Note: Elections to fill Sessional Faculty vacancies on Senate will take place in August 2019.

Vacancies for Student Representatives on Senate:

  • One (1) Undergraduate Student from the Faculty of Art
  • One (1) Undergraduate Student from the Faculty of Design
  • One (1) Undergraduate Student from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences and School of Interdisciplinary Studies
  • One (1) Graduate Student

Nominators and candidates must be registered full- or part-time students at OCAD University. Undergraduate Student Senators​ are elected by and from undergraduate students enrolled in a program and must be from their home faculty (e.g. nominators from the Faculty of Art are only eligible to submit nominations for student within the Faculty of Art). Graduate Student Senators are elected from and by graduate students enrolled in any full- or part-time program.
