Board of Governors’ External Member Nominations

OCAD University’s Board of Governors (Board) has members from the external community, who are elected by the Board itself, as well as by the alumni. These External Member positions are voluntary positions for a three-year term upon successful completion of the recruitment and election process. 

Elections for these positions are conducted when terms expire. There is currently one vacancy for an External Member, elected by the Alumni, for a three-year term.

An Alumni representative for purposes of this position is defined in section 1.1(d) of the By-Laws as:

Graduates of the University who have been awarded one or more of the following:

i. the “Associate of the Ontario College of Art” diploma (“AOCA”);
ii. the “Associate of the Ontario College of Art & Design” diploma (“AOCAD”); or
iii. any or all baccalaureate degrees or graduate degrees awarded by the University.


The Executive Committee of the Board of Governors, acting in its nominating role, approved the following slate of candidates for election:

Election Campaign Period: April 27 to May 25, 2018

Electronic Election Period: May 28 to June 1, 2018

(An e-mail invitation to the online electronic voting portal will be sent to alumni eligible to vote in this election during the election period.)

Results will be officially announced by the June 18, 2018 Board meeting.

Board of Governors’ Internal Member Elections


Vacancies exist for the following Student positions on the Board:

One (1) Graduate Student position elected by registered full-time/part-time Graduate Students at OCAD University;
One (1) Undergraduate Student position elected by registered full-time/part-time Undergraduate Students at OCAD University.

Nominations are now being accepted for Internal Member positions on the OCAD University Board of Governors.

Eligible candidates may submit nominations for these positions until Monday, September 10, 2018, 4:30 p.m.
