In May 2025, OCAD University’s International Programs & Collaborations team traveled to Expo 2025 Osaka to showcase the Stones Across Cultures collaboration with Joshibi University. Represented by Jennie Suddick and Jasmine Cardenas, they participated in public programming at the Jellyfish Pavilion, engaging hundreds of visitors in natural pigment-based art activities. The trip included a special ceremony at the Canada Pavilion celebrating the partnership between Toronto and Sagamihara, and visits to partner institutions including Osaka Institute of Technology. The experience deepened cross-cultural connections, highlighted sustainable creativity on a global stage, and set the stage for future international collaborations in art and design.
Neighbours of the Lake was a hands-on workshop exploring urban transformation through social design and cultural research. Led by Meichen Waxer in collaboration with Waterfront Toronto and Mexico City's Culturans, it offered students an interdisciplinary, experiential learning opportunity to engage with the Port Lands project and envision inclusive, sustainable, community-driven city building.
