Sabbatical presentation of Shannon Gerard

Shannon Gerard presents:

Plant Parenthood

What do farming and printmaking have in common? The shared political imperative of public participation. Most organic farmers I know are activists—trapped in a capitalist system while striving to build healthy networks of ecological care, viable futures and equitable access to land. Printmakers are likewise scrappy—taking hold of machines built for industry and mass communication and subverting them for art. Self-publishing in particular is intimately tied to liberation movements, in which dissemination is a matter of personal survival. Plant Parenthood is a farm, a publishing house and a classroom with an emphasis on radical seed saving, cooperative programming, regional adaptation of diasporic food and social justice.

Presentation of b.h. Yael

b.h. Yael presents:

Some to completion, some to anxious irresolve. Each remains in question...
