FAS Undergrad Grants

Undergraduate Research & Presentation Grants

The Faculty of Arts & Science is pleased to offer five Undergraduate Grants to support students presenting their academic or creative work at conferences and symposia. 

 

These grants are an excellent opportunity to showcase your research, build your professional experience, and represent OCAD University at external events. 

 

Grant Overview:

  • Funding Amount:
    Up to $750.00 in travel expense reimbursement. 

 

  • Eligibility:
    Open to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts & Science who have been accepted to present at a conference or symposium taking place before June 30, 2026. 

 

  • Application Deadline:
    February 2, 2026 
    (Covering events occurring before June 30, 2026.) 

 

 

Application Requirements: 

Your application must include: 

  • Cover Letter:
    Including a brief proposal or abstract summarizing your presentation. 

  • Budget Breakdown:
    Estimated travel expenses (e.g., transportation, accommodation, registration fees). 

How to Apply:

  1. Prepare all required documents. 

  1. Combine your materials into a single PDF (recommended). 

  1. Email your application to fashelp@ocadu.ca by 11:59 PM on February 2, 2026. 

  1. You will receive a confirmation email once your application is submitted. 

 

Evaluation Criteria:

Applications will be reviewed based on: 

  • Clarity and strength of the proposal/abstract 

  • Relevance of the event to your academic or creative discipline 

  • Budget rationale 

  • Demonstrated benefit to your academic and professional development 

 

After You Receive the Grant:

Students awarded funding must: 

  • Provide proof of attendance (e.g., registration confirmation). 

  • Submit receipts for all reimbursable expenses. 

  • Complete a short post‑event reflection (optional, if you want to include this).
