I graduated and went back as Graphic Design year one instructor years later after working in some of Toronto’s best design companies. But my story is how my father, Monte Kwinter graduated in the 1950’s and was one of very few industrial designers in Canada. Go ahead decades and he was the Vice Pesident with Roy Ascott in 1972 and ejected when they proposed more academic involvement.
Move a few decades ahead and as the member of Provincial Parliament, he helped OCAD add a U onto its name. To ice the cake, his granddaughter Carrie graduated from OCAD U, third generation. Monte attended in velvet robes on stage!
