I reflect on my time at OCAD as one of the best times in my life. It has impacted my future in so many ways. Being creative and coming up with innovative approaches has pushed me further in my career. From the ability to take criticism and turn it into a constructive, solution-oriented approach, to finding a new path forward is something I see many of my colleagues struggle with. The creative problem-solving skills and critical thinking I learned at OCAD have led to ongoing and increasingly senior leadership roles throughout my career.
My favourite instructor at OCAD was Ian Carr-Harris. He played a very influential role in my life and inspired the work I do now. I also had the privilege of attending the OCAD Student Gallery and the Katherine Mulherin's Bus Gallery while I was in school. I have memories of my first gallery show, connecting with amazing lifelong friends and feeling excited to see what each class had in store. These were amazing experiences. I also met my husband at OCAD, and we have been together for over 20 years.
