With an analysis of student requests, Sessional Faculty and Technician Joginder Singh designed and built a custom solution called Lighten Up! The open access wall studio is a permanent readily available wall studio for photo documentation of models, small artworks and products, up to a fairly large size. In addition to soft even illumination, hard light has also been incorporated into the design for shadow studies of form.  Each light source can be controlled individually or used in combination.

Lighten Up! The open access wall studio has been installed in front of the Design Photography cage and can be accessed by anyone during Design Photography cage hours of operation and has no restrictions in terms of who has access.

A big thanks to all those who helped with project starting with Studio Management for believing in it and supporting it. Production wouldn't have been possible without help from colleagues in the Studio Services team namely Aleena Derohanian, Joel Moffet, Dylan Rutledge, Jasmin Liu, Raymond Fong, Andrew Atkin and John Diessel.  The Lighten Up! stencil font was designed by Prof Richard Hunt. The graphics for the control box was designed by Gian Cambridge - one of the Design Photo monitors.
