OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers (CEAD) is thrilled to launch “Money Models for Emerging Artists & Designers”, a resource created by financial literacy educator and professional artist Maggie Flynn, QAFP® to help emerging creatives think through strategies and options that can help shape their financial lives. The resource is illustrated by OCAD U illustration student Nasrin Etesami, and edited by Alexandra Hong, Program Lead, Creative Entrepreneurship.

This resource is part of the CEAD’s commitment to supporting OCAD U students and recent alumni in navigating their creative careers.

OCAD U community members can pick up a copy at the CEAD at 115 McCaul, 3rd Floor from Monday-Friday, 10 AM - 4 PM. A copy is also available in OCAD U’s Zine Library. If you wish to stock this resource, please email Alexandra Hong (entrepreneurship@ocadu.ca).

About Maggie Flynn, QAFP®

After a decade of working full time in the arts, Maggie retrained as a financial planner because she recognized the pressing need for quality sources of unbiased financial advice in Canada. Flynn received the FP Canada Award of Merit for the highest score on the national QAFP exam. She is a member of the Financial Planning
Association of Canada, where she serves as a member of the Regulatory Advocacy Committee.

Call for OCAD U Vendors – Bamtori Studio JingleBam Market

OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers (CEAD) is partnering with Bamtori Studio, a Toronto-based creative design and lifestyle brand that celebrates local and emerging artists by hosting community art markets in the GTA. A small, curated group of OCAD U students and recent alumni will be invited to share an OCAD U table to sell products and artworks as part of Bamtori Studio’s JingleBam Market.
