OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION:

OCADUniversity’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the return of the 401 Richmond Illustration Studio for graduating Illustration students.

Graduating ILLU students are invited to apply for this opportunity and four (4) successful applicants will be awarded one year of free studio space in 401 Richmond in from June 2026 to May 2027. This is an incredible opportunity to become part of a larger creative community and connect with like-minded creative practitioners.Applications will be reviewed by ILLU Faculty members during the graduating medals and awards process. The studio will be cleaned before move-in.

This award is generously supported by the Dalglish Family Foundation, whose commitment to emerging artists and designers makes this opportunity possible.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Must be an undergraduate Illustration major who has completed 15+ credits and will be graduating in 2026
  • Must have the intention of being present in the Greater Toronto Area following graduation in order to make regular use of this opportunity

OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers (CEAD) and The Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute (SickKids RI) have partnered to co-create an exhibition in the Great Hall at OCAD University on November 16-27, 2026. The CEAD and SickKids RI are inviting emerging artists to submit existing works for consideration. The responding artworks to be curated will be in dialogue with captivating scientific images or videos from SickKids Research Institute. 7-9 successful artists will each be paid a $500 Artist Fee.
