OCAD U’s new Global Centre for Climate Action receives Partners In Art Special Projects Grant

PIA

OCAD University's new Global Centre for Climate Action (GCCA) has received the Partners in Art (PIA) Special Project Grant.  The Global Centre for Climate Action will be located in the refurbished Canada Malting Silos at Bathurst and Queens Quay in Toronto. This grant will support “Reclaim, Refresh, Regenerate” a GCCA exhibition series that will explore themes of social and political issues through an ecological lens.

Running from spring to fall 2024, the exhibition will include nine public-facing projects developed with community and international partner organizations. Thanks to the generous support of Partners in Art, this series will bring together cultural leaders in climate action, showcase IBPOC artists, designers, and local educators who are changing the way we think about community, land, and shared spaces, while providing educational engagement opportunities to the public.

Additional programming will start as early as fall, 2023 and more information will be shared soon. Learn more about the projects and artists involved by joining the Global Centre for Climate Action’s mailing list at climateaction@ocadu.ca or by following on Instagram

OCAD University is grateful to receive this Partners in Art Special Project Grant and for this unique and ground-breaking space. Thank you to the Partners in Art Board, committees, and members for this vote of confidence as the University embarks on this exciting journey.
