Luciana Calvet, she/her
Exhibit Designer (3D), Royal Ontario Museum

From commissioning a 10-foot diameter black widow spider to designing the galleries of Ancient Rome, Luciana enjoys the process of continually learning about the world at the museum. Working with curators, planners, technicians and other designers, Luciana creates a physical, emotional, and sensory experience for the visitor. Technically, her work deals with space planning, life safety/facilities, millwork builds, and artifact display. She is a graduate of Environmental Design OCAD and holds a degree in Semiotics.

Courtney Murfin, she/her
Interpretive Planner, Royal Ontario Museum

As an interpretive planner at the Royal Ontario Museum, Courtney works on a wide variety of projects – from bizarre animals to archaeological sites, and from major special exhibitions to digital apps and behind-the-scenes programs. Courtney works with curators and designers to determine storyline, target audience, and tone, and helps to develop much of the project’s content. So far, she’s most enjoyed creating experiences about massive whales, bloodsucking creatures, new dinosaur discoveries, modern mining, historic palaces, horror movie posters, Mexican clothing, tattoos, and most recently, children’s pandemic artworks.

Rachel Wong, she/her
Acting Manager, Design, Royal Ontario Museum

Her love of learning and interest in meaning-making eventually led her to a career in museums. She has worked at many different cultural institutions across the GTA before finding a home at ROM. Rachel works on both 2D and 3D exhibition design, collaborating closely with curators, interpretive planners, other designers, as well as other project team members. She studied Fine Arts, Interior Design, and Museum Studies.
