StART Summer Transition Program is a FREE comprehensive orientation program for incoming first-year OCAD U students with disabilities.

Learn new skills! Meet new people (virtually)! Support in the transition to university!

This program helps students build skills and knowledge, while also meeting others with similar experiences in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Due to the ongoing need for physical distancing, StART will take place virtually this summer with topics such as:

  • Becoming familiar with University supports and services
  • Learning strategies in areas such as test taking, note-taking, critique skills, and time management
  • Self-advocacy skills and strategies to communicate with Instructors
  • Stress management and positive mental health strategies

Participants are encouraged to attend all four sessions to take advantage of the unique topics addressed. Participants qualify for prizes and goodies!
