Ask an Engineer | AMA with Ontario Tech University

As part of Ontario Tech University’s current partnership with OCAD University, the Career Centre at Ontario Tech will be hosting a virtual “Ask an Engineer” event on Thursday July 30, from 12pm to 1pm that is open to students and alumni of both institutions. This event, through Google Meet, allows participants to ask panelists questions about their career development, elements of technological design, and learn about complimentary skills related to design and engineering.

Panelist biographies:

Soma Chakraborty, MASc, EIT

Masters of Applied Science, Mechanical Engineering, Ontario Tech University (2020)

Mechanical Engineer at Wolf Advanced Technology

Soma is a Mechanical Engineer experienced in designing thermal management 3D models and assemblies of rugged video graphics board. Soma has a multitude of experience as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Ontario Tech University, Graduate Research Assistant at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, and Faculty Member at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology. Soma has several publications and values the leadership and management skills she has developed through active teaching in mechanical engineering.

Fhaad Lockhat

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Automotive Engineering, Ontario Tech University (Expected 2021)

Fhaad is currently completing his final year of study at Ontario Tech University in the Automotive Engineering program and is aspiring for a career in the automotive, aerospace, or mechanical/manufacturing industry.  Farad is the Team Manager for Ontario Tech Racing where he is responsible for overseeing and supporting the design and build of an electric racecar.  Fhaad has also recently completed an Internship as a Quality Engineer at Tesla.
