OCAD University is proud to recognize student leadership and excellence outside the classroom—acknowledging and celebrating our student leaders—whose outstanding commitment to advocacy, equity, social justice, student life and fellowship, help improve the campus community:

  

Peer Mentor Excellence Awards recognize two undergraduate Peer Mentors who have made outstanding contributions, in support of new and first-year students and helping build community, while adhering to the mandate of the Student Mentor Program.  

 

The Diversity & Equity Excellence Award for Students acknowledges an outstanding student whose advocacy and leadership on campus promote and advance human rights, equity, and social justice. 

 

A Student Group Leader Award is presented annually to a group leader who demonstrates outstanding contributions, commitment and support to their group, its members and the OCAD University community.  

 

The Indigenous Student Leadership Award recognizes an outstanding Indigenous student who has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills by actively participating in and contributing to the Indigenous student community at OCAD U in support of its growth and development.  

 

The Excellence in Student Leadership Award recognizes the contributions of student leaders across the university in a variety of contexts, including representing student perspectives in positions on OCAD U committees, working groups, task forces, governance bodies or through publications, advocacy groups or the Student Union.  

 

The Student Employee Excellence Award acknowledges the considerable contributions made by OCAD U student employees (monitors) towards the operations of the University by recognizing student employee excellence, achievement, leadership, and skills development. 

 

Award recipients and nominees will be invited to a special online awards and recognition presentation in March coordinated by the Campus Life office.

Nothing puts the A in OCAD U like art, right? Join OCAD U Peer Mentors Sara KB. And Rey T. in a fun “pictionary-style” game—everyone takes turns drawing a word given by skribbl.io and the rest of us have fun guessing what the word is! A simple but so fun way to enjoy time together with new people!

July 23, 30, August 6 or 13, 2020 (1-2:15pm)

Each week, one random participant will be selected to win a student membership to Craft Ontario!

This event is perfect for first-year students (but open to everyone) as an opportunity for getting to know your peers while at the same time learning more about OCAD U.

Presented by OCAD U student Peer Mentor Tessa G., this game will put forth two truths and one lie. Players guess which "facts" are true and which is the lie. We will be playing a trivia version of this game, as well, where three pieces of trivia are presented and we have to guess which are true and which are false. Game is open to new and returning students.

You'll find a wide variety of beautiful posters, prints, zines, stickers, greeting cards, ceramics, fashion, jewelry items and more from local creators. Support 50+ OCAD U artists and alumni. This event is open to the public so come by and support local artists! FREE ADMISSION!

Remember to BRING CASH as most artists do not have card readers. There are ATMs in the building. We are a wheelchair accessible space.
