The SWC presents the Art Therapy Group for OCAD U students.
Art therapy combines visual art techniques with psychotherapy. In the OCAD U Art Therapy Groups, students will be introduced to art therapy techniques that can help them find individualized and creative ways of reducing stress.
This group provides students with a space for self-expression, self-exploration, connection with peers, and stress-reduction in a non-judgmental environment.
Facilitated by: Art therapist and OCAD U alumnus, Dean Davis, DTATI, RP (Qualifying) & Peer Support Facilitator, Praanee Chandrasegaram
This group is held virtually on Microsoft Teams biweekly on Mondays from 2:30-4:30pm — starting May 30th to August 8th, 2022.

For Islamic History Month, the MSA wants to spotlight the work of OCAD U's creative Muslim community. Submissions will be featured on all MSA social media platforms from October 19 to 25.

ABOUT MSA
The Muslim Student Association (MSA) is a community within OCAD University that is run by students. The MSA assists and represents Muslim students in several matters, and works with the Administration, and Campus Security to ensure a safe environment for Muslim students on campus, as well as a maintained safe and peaceful space for prayer. The MSA hosts several educational workshops and events to spread knowledge about Islam as well as collaborating with MSAs province-wide. All events are open to Muslim and non-Muslim students, faculty and staff.

The OCAD U Poetry Society presents our first poetry slam. This event will determine the team that represents OCAD U at the College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational (CUPSI) at Virginia Commonwealth University (April 15 to 18, 2020).
Interested poets would need 3 poems each under 3 minutes.

ABOUT OCAD U POETRY SOCIETY: The OCAD U Poetry Society is a collective of students from all backgrounds and writing levels who gather to discuss, collaborate and experiment with poetic forms. They facilitate workshops, performances and outings. The Society is also responsible for creating and facilitating the OCAD U Poetry Slam Team which will compete at The College Union Poetry Slam Invitational (CUPSI), an annual Poetry Slam tournament put on by the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) in which teams of four or five college students from different colleges and universities compete against each other in the United States. The society is mentored by Professors Ian Keteku and Lillian Allen.
