Sexual Assault Support

If you or someone you know may have been sexually assaulted there is support available at Health and Wellness and OCAD University.


You can walk-in to the Health and Wellness Centre and speak to a counsellor between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Alternatively you can also call or email us to set up an appointment to speak with a counsellor. This meeting can be an informal way to talk about the incident and get more information on next steps.

OCAD U Security & Emergency Services

OCAD U's Security & Emergency Services office will support members of the OCAD U community who wish to report a sexual assault either to the Toronto Police or internally through the Response to Violent and Threatening Behaviour Policy, the Non-academic Misconduct Policy or the Respectful Work & Learning Environment Policy.

Assaulted Women’s Help Line

The Assaulted Women’s Help Line provides an anonymous emergency help line for women that have been assaulted, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If assaulted in the last 72 hours, call 416-323-6040.

Women’s College Hospital

The Sexual Assault /Domestic Violence Care Centre at Women’s College Hospital offers a 24-hour medical care centre for individuals who have been victims of sexual assault, providing acute and emergency care, follow-up care and counselling.

Toronto Police Service

The Toronto Police Services have developed A Guide for Sexual Assault Survivors that provides an overview of the investigation process as well as resources for survivors.

Toronto Rape Crisis Centre

The Toronto Rape Crisis Centre offers legal support, referrals, a 24-hour crisis line, support groups and in-person counselling for victims of sexual assault. The office is open for in person visits Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Barbra Schlifer Clinic offers legal support, counselling, information and referrals, as well as interpreter services for women who have experienced abuse.
