The Health and Wellness Centre is OCAD University's on-campus clinic that provides medical and counselling services to all OCAD U students. The services are accessible and responsive to issues relating to gender, race, age, culture, ability, sexual orientation, income and faith. We are a team of health-care professionals whose goal it is to make your time at OCAD U a positive and fulfilling experience and help you maintain optimal physical and mental health while pursuing a post-secondary education.
Our family doctor is available for scheduled appointments on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Please call us at 416-977-6000, Ext. 260 or email us at email@example.com to book an appointment. Our voicemail is updated regularly indicating the doctor's availability. The nurse is also available for select services Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will be walk-in appointments on Fridays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. These appointments will be filled on a first come first serve basis starting at 12:30 p.m. The doctor does not see walk-in appointments outside of Friday afternoons. However, there are a number of same day urgent appointments available every day. Please call first thing in the morning for these appointments as they are booked on a first come first serve basis. These appointments are shorter, so can only accommodate one urgent issue. If you think you will require more time with the doctor or your concern is not urgent, you may be asked to book for a different day in the doctor's schedule. If no appointments are available, but you have an urgent issue, the front desk may ask to call you back after speaking with the nurse or doctor.
Walk-in counselling is available Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To ensure you get the best out of your session, please arrive by 3:30 p.m. Walk-in counselling can be used to access crisis support, get connected to ongoing counselling and other Health & Wellness services, as well as to explore options for community resources. Walk-in sessions are typically 20 minutes in length and generally occur on a first come, first served basis.
For after-hours support, see our Resources page.
The OCAD U Health & Wellness Centre is open to OCAD students year round. Please note that you must be registered in a degree program and currently enrolled in classes in order to access services.
