Electives

Most major/programs include elective options. Refer to the program guide for your catalog year and choose appropriate electives as defined below. Some electives must be completed at a specific year level (the first number of a course code indicates its year level, e.g., GDES-3010 = year 3 level). Please note that some courses are worth 0.25, 0.5 or 1.0 credit.

Effective September 2019, courses in the new subject areas CRWR (Creative Writing) and IVCA (Indigenous Culture: Art) may be taken as art or studio electives, and courses in the new subject areas CRWR, IVCA, IVCL (Indigenous Culture: Breadth) and IVCV (Indigenous Culture: History) may be taken as open electives. Questions regarding prerequisites for these courses may be directed to the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences, folas@ocadu.ca.

You can search for electives by subject in the Course Catalogue in My OCAD U Records.
