How to apply for OSAP for an approved micro-credential program

For students taking an OSAP-approved micro-credential, for each micro-credential,

Step 1: Submit an “OSAP for Micro-credentials Application” online at ontario.ca/osap

Step 2: Submit your (and your spouse’s/parent’s, if applicable) signed Consents, Declarations, and Signature pages, along with any supporting documentation. These documents can be uploaded to your online application (preferred), or submitted to the Financial Aid & Awards office at OCAD U. If you have issues submitting your documentation, please let us know and we will assist you.

What’s next: Your application will be processed to ensure that all information is complete and valid. Some of the information that you provide (e.g. name and income) will be verified with third parties. To stay up-to-date on the latest status of your OSAP account, you can check online at ontario.ca/osap.

You will need to be registered in your micro-credential course before your application can be confirmed and your OSAP funding released to you.

How to get OSAP funds

Once your application is complete and we have confirmed your enrollment, your funding will be issued directly to you via direct deposit or cheque by the National Student Loans Centre for OSAP for Micro-credentials (a division of the NSLSC). As part of the online application process through your OSAP web account, you will be asked to complete a Micro-credential Student Loan Agreement as well as provide banking information. If you prefer, you can choose to opt-out of providing banking details and request a cheque instead.

Deadlines

Application: Your application must be received by your school’s financial aid office no later than the last day of your study period.
Supporting documentation: Supporting documentation must be received no later than 5 days after the end of your study period.
