Lets Talk Workshops

The Healing Power of Art 
Friday, January 22 at 2pm to 4pm 

A safe space to explore ourselves. Art Therapist, Dean Davis (they/them) RP (Qualifying), leads an ongoing bi-weekly workshop for artists to de-stress and build a community of care across the world.  

Wellness Strategies for Online Learning
Monday, January 25 from 2pm to 2:45pm

A workshop focusing on simple strategies to support and enhance wellness and address challenges related to learning in the online environment. Facilitated by Indigenous Student Counsellor Jeanine Claus (she/her) and Student Wellness Community Worker Kaitlyn Young (she/her). 

Mindfulness Workshop
Tuesday, January 26 from 12pm to 1pm

A mindfulness workshop for Artists, Designers, and Creative Writers with Mental Health Clinician Alanna Fletcher (she/her). Learn skills to bring mindfulness into your creative practice.

Energy Exploration Workshop 
Tuesday, January 26 from 2pm to 3pm

Student-led workshop focused on exploring your relationship with energy through storytelling, movement, and music. Join SWC Student Navigator Rei Pierre(they/them) to investigate ways we use energy. 

Mindful Colouring 
Wednesday, January 27 from 12pm to 1pm

Drop-In open space to colour and doodle with others. SAS Student Navigator and Artist Kainat Ahmad (she/her) leads a workshop to cultivate mindfulness and de-stress with other students.

DBT Workshop
Thursday, January 28 from 1pm to 2pm

Short for “Dialectical Behavior Therapy,” DBT is a skills –based group to learn more skills to self-regulate emotions, to better tolerate stress, improve our communication in relationships, and cultivate mindfulness. Led by Counsellors Courtney Ward (she/her) and Reiko Obokata (she/her).  

Self-Care Workshop 
Thursday, January 28 from 3pm to 4pm

Student-led workshop to cultivate self-care on a budget. Creative Writer and International Student Navigator Mia Lamia (she/her) shares recipes passed onto her by her grandmother and the stories that come with them.  

Healing Power of Food Workshop 
Friday, January 29 from 2pm to 3pm

Join Chef Rei Pierre (they/them) and Team_Cooking Club for a workshop on the transformative power of creating food and our relationship with the kitchen. This is an interactive workshop, and we encourage you to join us in a kitchen or clean working space with ingredients.
