OCAD University’s Centre for Emerging Artists and Designers (CEAD) and NEO Exchange are excited to announce Sagan MacIsaac as the recipient of the Neo Exchange Curatorial Coordinator Career Launcher.

NEO Exchange, Canada’s next-generation stock exchange, has partnered with OCAD U to co-create the NEO Commissioning Program and the Curatorial Coordinator Career Launcher. Five emerging OCAD U artists, working in a variety of mediums, will be commissioned to provide original works of art to commemorate the listing of a corporate client or the launch of a new fund on the NEO stock exchange. As Curatorial Coordinator, Sagan will support commissioning-related activities and she will act as a liaison; leading communications between participating artists, NEO Exchange and its listing clients.

Sagan MacIsaac is a curator and cultural strategist. Her strategy, engagement, cultural programming and project management work has informed major projects for clients including: Toronto Biennial of Art, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, StART (City of Toronto), Sidewalk Toronto, The Meadoway, WoodGreen Community Services, City of Ottawa, Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto, Waterfront Toronto, Quadrangle, Nuit Blanche, City of Calgary and Mount Sinai Hospital. Sagan is a Senior Associate at ART+PUBLIC UnLtd and frequently collaborates with Bespoke Cultural Collective.

A graduate of OCAD University’s Criticism and Curatorial Practice program, Sagan has curated many self-initiated projects, and produced and managed events, performances, and installations for Art of the Danforth, YYZ Artists’ Outlet, OCAD University, and the Art Gallery of Ontario, focusing on how to engage Torontonians in a rich cultural life. In 2015, she founded Sagan Editions to make Canadian art more accessible to a broader audience by producing limited edition artist multiples.

As part of the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers, the Career Development office supports the professional development of emerging OCAD U creative talent. The Career Launchers program offers unique, high-profile opportunities developed in partnership with industry leaders in order to help senior students and new graduates start their professional practice after school.
