OCAD University and Partial are excited to announce the OCAD University Artist Showcase - a selection of handpicked work from OCAD U’s pool of top emerging artistic talent.
Discover work by alumni and student artists currently featured on the OCAD University Artist Showcase. Members of the public can now find, buy and rent artworks directly from artists working in painting, illustration, photography, printmaking and much more. The OCAD U Artist Showcase offers affordable and collector-worthy works of photography, painting, drawing, and more. Artists were selected from an open call to current students and new OCAD U grads, juried by Faculty Members and staff from the Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers. The Showcase’s selection of artists will continue to grow, offering a display that highlights the imagination and innovation of Canada’s largest art school. Creating art can be hard; now, owning it doesn’t have to be.
“The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is very excited about this unique partnership with Partial. It’s a chance to help OCAD U students and recent grads to establish their early professional art practice, while developing the necessary skills for long-term success in the field. We have an exceptional group of committed artists who are part of this first wave of talent on the OCAD University Artist Showcase, and they’re already seeing success through the collaboration,” said Zev Farber, Director of the CEAD.
“I’m a new member of Partial Gallery and I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful community. I’ve been a member for only a few months and already renting my work out to new clients and had one of my photographs presented in the Partial Gallery booth at an international art fair in Korea. I can’t say enough great things about the way the people at Partial treat their artist members by always putting them first. I’ve been wishing for such a platform for years!,” said Shlomi Amiga, OCAD U Alumni.
Founded in 2016 in Toronto, Partial Gallery is an art marketplace and platform for art-seekers to discover their new favourite emerging artists. The platform allows artists to showcase their individual practices, while providing a framework for artwork sales and rentals. Partial and OCAD U have the goal of bringing more art out of artists’ studios and onto the walls of homes and businesses in our city. To facilitate that, Partial offers a “try-before-you buy” rental system which allows interested parties to try out a piece for a few months before deciding to add it to their permanent art collection. Additionally, Partial’s online platform allows users to preview the work of these emerging artists in their space to gain a better sense of how each work would complement their unique environments.
Support emerging artists by investing in them, while growing your art collection.

OCAD U’s partnership with Partial Gallery commenced in October 2018. Three students from Industrial Design, Graphic Design and Material Art and Design, all involved in the Design4 program, were placed with Partial Gallery to work on developing a high-fidelity interactive mock-up as a prototype in order to optimize Partial's Dashboard. The results of the student’s work launched in Summer 2019 with Partial’s implementation of the dashboard feature and artist user experience improvements.
