Changes to campus mask requirements

As of Tuesday, May 16, 2023, the start of the Spring/Summer term, OCAD University is removing all remaining campus-wide mask requirements. This means masks will no longer be required in classrooms, studios, computer labs, elevators or the Dorothy H. Hoover Library.

This decision is based on the current COVID-19 trends and declining prevalence and severity of COVID-19 within the City of Toronto.

As the decision to wear a mask is now one of individual choice, we ask that all members of the community demonstrate respect for those who continue to wear masks for health and safety reasons. Masks will continue to be supplied on campus at current masking dispensers.

To maintain a healthy OCAD U community, it is imperative that you stay home if you are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms, even if they are mild.

As a member of the OCAD U community, we expect you to monitor your health and to stay home when you are feeling unwell.

If you have COVID-19 symptoms or test positive, please follow the isolation requirements of Toronto Public Health. Individuals who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, or runny nose, should stay home from school, work and social events until the fever clears and symptoms have been improving for at least 24 hours.

Please familiarize yourself with what to do if you are a close contact of someone who has COVID-19.

It is important to follow good hand hygiene practices by washing or sanitizing your hands often.
