[2026 Sankofa Square Animation Take-over!](/markdownify/node/4736) September 2, 2026 # 2026 Sankofa Square Animation Take-over! ![](/sites/default/files/styles/1_5_1_large/public/assets/media/yds.png.webp?itok=HouatBXH) rgb(255,255,255) **2026 Sankofa Square Animation Take-over!** The RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers and Sankofa Square are excited to announce the 2026 OCAD U Experiential Learning Animation take-over! The Sankofa Square placement provides OCADU Experimental Animation placement students with the opportunity to showcase their work on the digital screens of Sankofa Square (formerly Yonge and Dundas). Our students were asked to respond to the theme of Worldbuilding. OCAD U’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers supports Experiential Learning Placements with partners like Sankofa Square in an effort to bridge early careers with the arts ecology of Toronto and beyond. The OCAD U Experiential Learning animation take-over will be shown across five (5) digital screens throughout the **month of September 2026**. Jasmeet Sidhu is an OCADU Alumni and animator with almost 10 years of experience working in the film and games industry. He has worked on films that include Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Transformers: Rise of the Beast and Coyote vs Acme as well as games such as Fortnite. The Experiential Learning program offers a continuous approach to bridging formal studies with opportunities for professional, personal and civic growth. This funding is intended to help student groups create opportunities for entrepreneurship skills development, community building, and revenue-generating activities for students and recent alumni, while reducing barriers to participation for equity-seeking individuals.
