Various bursary programs generated through government, donations, endowments, tuition revenue, and external agencies are available to OCAD U students. Bursaries are non-repayable awards intended to supplement students' other sources of funding, range in value from $500 to $5,000, and are disbursed based on financial need and the number of students who apply. Approximately 1,000 students are supported through this program annually; a list of all available bursaries can be found in [AwardSpring](https://ocadu.awardspring.ca/). Bursary amounts can vary depending on available funding each year. Students must meet eligibility criteria to apply for a bursary through this program. ### Indigenous bursaries In addition to the in-study bursaries available from OCAD U, Indigenous students can also apply for the Indigenous Student Bursary offered in conjunction with the [Indigenous Student Centre](/student-services/indigenous-student-centre). Students must have self-identified as Indigenous and must meet eligibility criteria to apply. ### Racial equity bursaries In addition to in-study bursaries, OCAD U students can also apply to racial equity bursaries. OCAD University offers bursaries specifically awarded to students who identify as Indigenous, Black, or racialized. Students must meet eligibility criteria to apply. ### Emergency bursaries Emergency bursaries are intended to provide short-term assistance to students experiencing financial difficulties beyond their control. Students are expected to have accessed their provincial student loan or grant program and/or all potential sources of income (including savings) before seeking assistance through this program. Students must meet certain criteria to be eligible to apply. ### Spring/summer Term bursaries All students registered in a degree program at the University in the Spring/summer Term are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to eligible OSAP students as per OCAD U's commitment to the Ontario government's Student Access Guarantee. Summer bursaries are funded through OCAD University’s tuition fee set-aside fund, and range in value from $500 to $2,500.
