The RGD is Canada’s largest professional association for graphic designers, with more than 4,500 members. Yang received the award for her project, [*Why do you love creating?,*](https://rgd.ca/hiring-designers/award-winners/2026-student-awards-winners/award-for-motion-design) an animated video reflecting on the innate desire to create. The project was supported by OCAD U instructor Karen Justl. The RGD praised Yang’s use of complementary fonts and seamless scene transitions in creating a unified, immersive experience. OCAD U students were also recognized with honourable mentions across several categories.
