Between drawing her own comics and illustrating children's books, Kate has been exploring digital and traditional art to tell stories through a Queer, East Coast lens. Though her characters are often expressive and playful, Kate enjoys pushing at the border where silly intersects serious. She is interested in making the mundane into the uncanny, or narratives where the resolution may be left to interpretation. Kate has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Print Media) from Mount Allison University. ![Kate Phillips at OCAD U](/sites/default/files/2026-01/Kate%20Phillips.jpg) [ Cartoonist & Illustrator Kate Phillips Visits OCAD U! .arrow-link-long { fill: #000; } ](https://www.katephillips.net/) ## Other Recent News [### 2027 Critical Distance Centre for Curators Projections Program Call for Artists OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers (CEAD) and Critical Distance Centre for Curators (CDCC) have partnered to co-create CDCC Projections Program Career Launcher.
