### Saturday Workshop Series with Professor Lauchlan Reid

## A Painting as a Composite Material

Presented in a down-to-earth and approachable format, this 3-week, in-depth workshop series with Professor Lauchlan Reid will provide a comprehensive and interactive discussion of the physical properties that determine the quality and longevity of a painting. With detailed examples and qualitative breakdowns of the factors at play with painting supports, grounds, paints, mediums, varnishes, and frames, this series dispels the myths under which many artists operate and provides them the basis to make informed decisions and choices, while providing their artworks a sense of quality and longevity that is otherwise relegated to museums and conservators.
