Shantae Cunningham, Founder & Senior Associate of Cobella Financial leads a workshop for OCAD U Students and Alumni on tax considerations for artists and designers who freelance or run a small business. Topics covered include HST, business expense deductibles, and more. Feel free to submit questions you may have about the 2023 tax year in advance of the session.

The event will cover:

  • What’s new for 2023 tax year for small businesses/sole proprietorship

  • employee versus self-employed income

  • HST

  • Deductibles for business expenses & keeping receipts

  • RRSPs vs TFSAS

  • CRA Audits/Reviews

  • any other tax-related questions you bring!
